Orki Language

Part of my work on the book The Stones of Ayalis consisted of a lot of Worldbuilding activities, like imagining a new history, culture and language. Below you may find some examples of the orki language:

Shara The names of the nine Orki tribes
Danan
Keles
Ewes
Leset
Uka
Yrha
Rusha
Tiek

Ayalis-Orki – People of the Swan
La’asu-Du Z’KiaEmu’A! – Reincarnation force may be with the traveler spirit!
Ti Ur’M Sag – Counsel of tribes
Ti Ur’M – Unity of tribes (The nine tribes)
Ayalis-Uma – Mother of men/orki (the Matriarch of a union of tribes, the one who gives peace and counsel)

Other words, related to funeral traditions: Head – SAG; Body – URU; Light – RU; Day – SAMRU; Music – S’AY’RU (to hear the light); Hand – CAT Left Hand – T’CAT Right Hand – S’CAT; Foot – ARI Left Foot – T’ARI Right Foot – S’ARI; Traveler – LA’ASU-DU (traveler spirit); Fire – BAR; Water – AZU; Sun – SAM; Earth – KI; Food, to eat – URUKI; Life of Earth and Water – Z’KIA (reincarnation); Force – EMU’A; Those Who See and Observe – GHI’GHA; Great Watcher – NIR’GHA; Nine (9) – TI; People (orki) – Ayalis; Man –Ayol; Woman –Ayala; Assembly – UR’M

P.S.  A great resource for writers who struggle to bring their fantasy world together is this article from lostkingdom.net (Part1 and Part2) and also the list put together by Patricia C. Wrede. Enjoy and share!

  1. Really my pleasure. People out there struggling to build there fantasy worlds deserve to know about the great resource you offer. I went to World Anvil and checked myself in as a beta tester, Can’t wait to see what’s that about. Thanks for the tip.
